Time for Conan Obama to be cancelled

If only politics was like the TV biz. Since he's such a flop after just one year, wouldn't it be great if we could cancel Conan Obama and buy off his contract as president?

Even hardcore Obama supporters are having voter remorse. Read "Why I Regret Voting for Obama"

VIDEO: Sarah Palin Goes Star Trek on The Tonight Show

After months of lameness as the new host of the The Tonight Show, Conan O'Brien finally hit one out of the park (or at least his writers did) with this brilliant idea. Go Shatner and Sarah!

And if you haven't been watching Shatner's Raw Nerve on the Biography Channel, you're missing the best interview on TV.

VIDEO: Ronald Reagan spoke out against health care reform (socialized medicine) in 1961

Listen to this recording made by Ronald Reagan in 1961 on behalf of the American Medical Association in opposition to proposed health care reform (socialized medicine).  It's amazing that 48 years later we're dealing with the same issues and supporters of the current health care bill don't understand that the majority of Americans still don't want it - not at least in this form.  There has to be a way to help get health insurance for the millions of uninsured without disrupting the 91% of Americans who already have health care - 84% of those say they are satisfied with their current health plan.

Photo: I can't believe I'm sitting next to a Republican

Saw this poster on the back of a bus this morning. It's actually an ad for a book by Harry Stein. He calls it "a survival guide for conservatives marooned among the angry smug and terminally self righteous." In other words, NY liberals. Think Chucky Schumer.

Top ten indicators that your employer has changed to a cheaper health care plan:

This list is pretty funny and very relevant today. Not sure about its origin.  It sounds a lot like Letterman. Thanks to David Pogue (@Pogue) who Tweeted this and says it has been around since 2005.

(10) Your annual breast exam is done at Hooters.

(9) Directions to your doctor's office include "Take a left when you enter the trailer park."

(8) The tongue depressors taste faintly of Fudgesicles.

(7) The only proctologist in the plan is "Gus" from Roto-Rooter.

(6) The only item listed under Preventative Care Coverage is "an apple a day."

(5) Your primary care physician is wearing the pants you gave to Goodwill last month.

(4) "The patient is responsible for 200% of out-of-network charges," is not a typographical error.

(3) The only expense covered 100% is "embalming."

(2) Your Prozac comes in different colors with little M's on them.

AND THE NUMBER ONE SIGN YOU'VE JOINED A VERY CHEAP HEALTH CARE PLAN:

(1) You ask for Viagra, and they give you a Popsicle stick and duct tape

WTF? Obama Chia Pet

(download)

I just saw a stupid commercial for Chia Obama. It is a real product. Not a joke or parody, although it could be.

'Persepolis' gives a unique look into Iran

With Iran dominating the news, I highly recommend the 2007 animated film Persepolis. It tells the story of a young girl growing up in Iran during the 1979 revolution, which brought the Islamic Fundamentalists into power. Although the film is animated - and it's brilliantly done - this is no kiddie cartoon. Watching it will give you a good look into the recent history of Iran and some insight into a new revolution that might be happening in Iran right now.  I highly recommend it.  You can watch the Persepolis trailer here. The film is currently available on DVD and Blu-ray. It is also running on some of the premium cable movie channels, so check your program guide.

Can Michael Moore make an honest movie?

I was looking through my daily film websites and ran across this blurb about Michael Moore's new movie.

"The as-yet-untitled Michael Moore documentary will explore the root causes of the global economic meltdown and take a comical look at the corporate and political shenanigans that culminated in what Moore described as "the biggest robbery in the history of this country" - the massive transfer of U.S. taxpayer money to private financial institutions."

Now there's not one filmmaker I dislike more than Moore.  I can't even bring myself to watch any of his recent films because they're just poison to my eyes and ears. I'll never forgive how he took advantage of an aging and ill Charlton Heston in "Bowling for Columbine." (Although I didn't see the entire film, I saw the Heston clip.) However, the last line in the blurb below made me wonder if it's possible that Moore might use his talents to really point a fair finger at what and who's responsible for our economic meltdown.  It will be interesting to see if he not only blames Bush (that's a given), but has the guts to nail the Obama administration and Congress for what they're doing. Years ago, before I knew of Moore's extreme left slant, I was first introduced to him when I saw "Roger & Me," which I thought was a good documentary about General Motors and how it negatively impacted the economy of Flint, Michigan. With Moore revisiting the subject of big business, it would be a welcome miracle if he makes a fair and balanced film. I seriously doubt it, but we'll wait and see. Click here to watch the teaser trailer...
