'Persepolis' gives a unique look into Iran
With Iran dominating the news, I highly recommend the 2007 animated film Persepolis. It tells the story of a young girl growing up in Iran during the 1979 revolution, which brought the Islamic Fundamentalists into power. Although the film is animated - and it's brilliantly done - this is no kiddie cartoon. Watching it will give you a good look into the recent history of Iran and some insight into a new revolution that might be happening in Iran right now. I highly recommend it. You can watch the Persepolis trailer here. The film is currently available on DVD and Blu-ray. It is also running on some of the premium cable movie channels, so check your program guide.
